Trimline Fires fireplaces are modern and chic, filled with technological advances and suitable for almost any spot in your home. They are the beating heart of many a home – something we are very proud of. We’ve travelled a long road to get to this point, putting out fires along the way… If you want to find out more about our past, travel back with us to the year of 1974.

1974 – ThermoCet is founded in Hengelo, The Netherlands

It all started with two partners with a shared dream. One bought all the remaining stock of a bankrupt iron foundry in Gaanderen. The other had all the necessary knowledge and expertise, having worked as a gas technician. ThermoCet was thus born and began manufacturing gas fireplaces.

End of the 70s – Switch from wood to gas

Unfortunately, the oil crisis back in the 80s threw a spanner in the works. Gas fireplaces were replaced by wood-burning fireplaces with elaborate designs and foreign influences. A strategy reversal was made, and ThermoCet moved into the German, UK, French, Spanish and US markets.

80s & 90s – Energy-efficient fireplaces

The demand for efficiency, ease of use and convenience steadily increases, causing gas to make a comeback. The first major technologies in this area are developed, and more and more quality labels like Giveg are established.

1994 – Move to Doetinchem

After many years of growth, including foreign expansion, it was time for a new company building. The move to Doetinchem gave us 2500 m² of extra space for R&D, assembly and storage, and another 450 m² of office space, including a showroom.

1997 – Merger with Helex BV

Better together! This merger allowed us to tap into an even larger European market, including exporting to countries like Ireland, Portugal, Slovakia and Norway.

2000 till 2005 – Product innovations

At the start of the new millennium, new innovations for our fireplaces were firing left, right and centre. Almost any spot in the house can now be fitted with a fireplace. We expanded upon our existing designs and made our fireplace controls even more ingenious and elaborate.

2002 – Manufacturing division transferred to Bosnia

Our manufacturing division in Doetinchem has outgrown its space, so we decide to move our manufacturing operations to Bosnia, acquiring 6000 m2 of manufacturing space, staffed by 60 employees.

2010 – Our headquarters moves to Woudenberg (UT)

SiSu Investment acquires ThermoCet, leading to the name change to ‘ThermoCet International’ to own up to our international market position more.

2019 – Launch of TrimlineFires.com

The Trimline Fires brand is created, derived from ThermoCet’s Trimline series, which was developed 15 years ago. This series became incredibly popular and gradually evolved into Trimline Fires, which was established as a brand in and of itself in 2019.

Everything in-house

Manufacturing a fireplace is a lengthy process, and the less interference across the chain, the better. That’s why we do everything in-house, keeping a handle on all aspects of creating our fireplaces. From our own R&D department with its own testing centre at our headquarters in Woudenberg, to our manufacturing and assembly facility.

“Full of passion and dedication, we create gas fireplaces that will envelop your home in a sense of ultimate comfort, convenience and warmth at any moment of the day.
